Onion (yellow)

Step 1

Peel & mince the onion.

Olive oil

Step 2

Heat a drizzle of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion & a pinch of salt & pepper. Sauté the onions 3-4 min, until the edges begin to brown.

Tomato sauce
Brown sugar (light)
Yellow mustard

Step 3

Add tomato sauce, brown sugar & mustard. Stir to combine. For more flavor add a few shakes of spices like cumin, garlic powder, chili powder or paprika if you have!

Lentils (pre-cooked)

Step 4

Add rinsed lentils to the mixture & stir to combine. Simmer on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. About 8-10 min. Remove from heat.

Burger bun

Step 5

On the bottom half of a toasted bun (optional), add a scoop of the mixture & close the sandwich. Garnish with any of your favorite toppings & enjoy!
