Step 1

Be sure to follow the pie crust package instructions! Preheat the oven to 400°F. Wash & halve the tomatoes.

Balsamic vinegar
Sugar (granulated)

Step 2

Melt the sugar in a dry pan over low heat. Add the balsamic vinegar. Stir & let it bubble for 1 min.

Add the halved tomatoes, skin-side up. Add a splash of water & cook for 2-3 min. Turn over the tomatoes. Cook for another 2 min. Season with salt & pepper.

Grease a round baking dish. Snugly arrange the tomatoes in the dish.

Pie crust (ready-to-bake)

Step 5

Top the tomatoes with the dough, folding in the edges to form a crust. Poke the dough several times with a fork. Bake for 20-25 min. When crust is golden brown, remove the tart from the oven. Let cool for 5 min.

Step 6

Once cool, lay a large plate over the baking dish. Swiftly flip over the baking dish. Serve the tart on the plate. Slice & enjoy!
