Chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

Step 1

If you're not using chocolate chips, roughly chop the baking chocolate bar. Reserve a few chocolate chips or chocolate chunks for garnish (optional).

Butter (unsalted)
Sugar (granulated)
Brown sugar (light)

Step 2

Melt the butter in a pot or in the microwave. Add the butter, brown sugar & white sugar to a large bowl. Mix it all together.

Egg

Step 3

Crack the eggs into the bowl. Whisk the eggs. Add a pinch of salt.

Flour (all-purpose)
Baking powder

Step 4

Add the flour & baking powder to the bowl. Mix to combine.

Chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

Step 5

Add the chocolate & mix again. Refrigerate the cookie dough for 30 min.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease your cast iron skillet or round cake pan.

Use an ice cream scooper or your hands to transfer the dough to the skillet. Press the dough evenly into the pan. Then top with the reserved chocolate chips (optional).

Step 8

Bake for 35-45 min at 350°F. The top of the cookie should be nice & golden. Remove from the oven. Sprinkle with sea salt. Let cool slightly. Enjoy!
