Strawberries

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Rinse the strawberries.

Butter (unsalted)

Step 2

Melt the butter in the microwave.

Sugar (granulated)

Step 3

In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, a pinch of salt & the melted butter. Mix with your hands until well combined. Add a dash of flour if too wet, or cold water if too dry.

Step 4

Form the dough into a ball & place it on a sheet of parchment paper. Flour the parchment & the rolling pin. Then roll out the dough to be about 1/4-inch thick.

Sprinkle almond flour over the dough.

Trim the stems from the strawberries & thinly slice them.

Arrange the strawberries over the dough, leaving a 2-inch border. Using the parchment paper, fold in the edges of the dough, pressing down lightly.

Step 8

Top the strawberries with a few dabs of butter & an extra sprinkle of sugar (optional). This will lightly caramelize in the oven. Bake for 30 min, or until the edges are golden brown.

Step 9

Serve alone...or better yet, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
