recipe

Mozzarella (low-moisture, for cooking)

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Cut the mozzarella into 23 chunks.

Pizza dough

Step 2

Cut the pizza dough sheet into 23 squares.

Step 3

Place a piece of mozzarella inside each piece of dough. Seal the edges & delicately roll in your hands to form a ball. Repeat for all 23 pieces.

Step 4

On a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, snugly place 6 balls next to each other to form the bottom bough of the tree. Continue the same pattern up the triangular tree. Then place the last 2 balls at the base of the tree for the trunk.

Egg

Step 5

Separate the egg white from the yolk, keeping only the yolk. Combine the yolk with a small splash of water. Stir to combine.

Step 6

Using the brush, generously coat the tree with the egg wash. Bake for 15 minutes at 400°F.

Butter (unsalted)
Garlic
Parsley (fresh)

Step 7

Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add the crushed or grated garlic & chopped parsley. Season with salt & pepper. Stir to combine. Remove from the heat.

Step 8

Remove the tree from the oven. Use the brush again to coat the tree with the garlic-parsley butter. Serve hot. Merry Christmas!
